Prof. Daryl Haggard, Dr. Melania Nynka, and Dr. John Ruan's discovery of a neutron star merger was named one of Québec's top 10 discoveries of 2018 according to Québec Science. This was the first time that an event was detected both by gravitational wave observatories (LIGO and Virgo) and by Gamma-ray (Fermi) and X-ray (Chandra) space telescopes.
