Dylan Keating - "A Universal Nightside Temperature on Hot Jupiters due to Nocturnal Clouds
I will present a study of the night side temperatures of 12 hot Jupiter exoplanets and compare to model predictions. Nine of the "typical" hot Jupiters appear to have the same nightside temperature, which we attribute to a universal nocturnal cloud species. The three hottest planets, so-called ultra hot Jupiters, have warmer nightsides due to thermal hydrogen dissociation and recombination.
